Erasmus international internship in Strasbourg, France

"What you start is what you will have to finish!"

This is one of the many things which my father taught me.

During my internship, I tried to follow this life experience. Yet this was not always easy.

During my international internship, my father became terminally ill. Because of this, there were a lot of moments that I would have liked to be home. However, I also wanted to enjoy this adventure of an international internship. We discussed this and Dad told me that I should enjoy and make the most of this opportunity. It is my last year of college and this has been a special and beautiful experience I will keep for the rest of my life.

My Dad told me that he would be pleased if I finished my study and referred to this beautiful and most important wisdom. Yet it has not been easy to remain positive about. But his eternal optimism has given me and my family a lot of strength.

I have had a very good time, there in France. I learned to know a lot of nice people. I also saw and did a lot of fun things! I’m really happy that I had the opportunity to live in France for 6 months!

Everyone from the Amitel was really friendly, I have had a great time there!

But all this could not be possible without the help and support from a lot of people people.

First of all I would like to thank my parents who have always supported me. Sometimes it was really tough. I do not know how to thank them more!

My girlfriend, who means very, very much for me! She helped me through some difficult times and was always there for me. I really could have done it without her...

All my friends who supported me before, during and after my trip to France, thank you very much! It has been a big adventure!

C. Huybrechts. Without her help, it would not be possible to go on this international internship adventure. She has arranged everything from the beginning until the end. Thanks very much!!

Then I would like to thank W. Goossens, CEO of Haldex Europe SAS in Hoerdt-Strasbourg. He gave me the opportunity to take a look at the IT support within the international company "Haldex". He always listened and helped me with everything!

Of course I cannot forget H. Hutzl, B. Fredriksson & M. Götrick. These people are the IT manager of Central Europe and two great IT technicians out of Sweden who were always up to help out when there was something wrong during my internship. I have learned a lot from them!

Furthermore, M. Peetermans, my internship mentor out of the PHL. She has been a guidance and great help!

G. Erlingen – Opleidingshoofd Toegepaste Informatica (Applied Informatics),

C. Neeb – Administrative and Financial Director

C. Engel – Executive Assistant

And everyone else from the PHL and Haldex who helped me.

Also everyone from the Amitel, it was really great to get to know you better! Eric, Bertrand, Nathalie, Yvette, René, Maxi, Florence, Marion, Tomas, Santiago, Laura, Séb, Efi, Lena, Alison, Julien, Alex, Vasillis, Kristina, Els, Sarah, Dorien, Nathalie, Céline, Gaëlle, Céline, Lorenzo, Daniel, Jean-baptiste, David, Serge, Martina, and others…

Thank you very much everyone!!!

Even when it was really hard for me, like i already sayd: I got to know nice people and it was a really great experience. And I think that I can say that I finished my internship with success!

Hugg, Bisous,
